Their music, a fusion of traditional Japanese melodies and futuristic synthwave, quickly gains a massive following, attracting the attention of Yachiyo Runami, a powerful record executive who sees in them an opportunity for immense profit. However, their growing fame also draws the ire of the Lunar Authority, led by the stern and calculating Akira Mikado, who dispatches Rai Komazawa, a skilled but conflicted agent, to retrieve Kaguya and shut down their subversive broadcasts.
